My final year at Milwaukee Center for Photography I was expected to furnish a final Thesis and a solo show of that work. I decided to document the re-emergence of nature in a former 1950's Nike missle site. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources had recently aquired the property on the north side of Milwaukee, next door to a Army military base, and made it a State Forest, naming it Havenwoods. I started in deep winter and ended just before spring. The DNR also offered me that solo show I needed to graduate.
